About Us

Our Lady of Wisdom Homeschool Academy is a Catholic hybrid school that offers in-person academic instruction twice a week to homeschool students.

Mission

We are a Catholic Community of home educators that seek to develop the mind, body, and spirit of our children through faith formation and academic instruction for the glory of God.

Vision

To be an expansive, dynamic model for the future of Catholic education.

Philosophy

Our Lady of Wisdom Homeschool Academy, in support of the Domestic Church, upholds that parents are the primary educators of their children. In partnership with the homeschool family, Our Lady of Wisdom Homeschool Academy seeks to provide academic instruction to students through a collective parent initiative that strives to be authentically Catholic by teaching students how to think, live, and act in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ. Based on these values, Our Lady of Wisdom Homeschool Academy is committed to:

· Achieving academic excellence by providing class instruction twice a week while providing students with assignments to be completed from home.

· Complementing home education in a classroom setting with students who value their Catholic faith.

· Fostering an authentic Catholic culture through academic instruction and faith formation.

· Instructing academic and faith-based content permeated by a Catholic world view that seeks to emphasize the teachings of Holy Mother Church.

History

Our Lady of Wisdom Homeschool Academy began in 2018 as a volunteer-based homeschool co-op, led by innovative and motivated parents, who taught core and elective classes for K-12 students. Over time, we desired a higher level of academic excellence for Catholic homeschool students and the idea of a dynamic hybrid school was born.

Statement of Faith

"Our profession of faith begins with God, for God is the First and the Last, the beginning and the end of everything. The Credo begins with God the Father, for the Father is the first divine person of the Most Holy Trinity; our Creed begins with the creation of heaven and earth, for creation is the beginning and the foundation of all God's works."

-the Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 198

Nicene Creed

We believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.

We believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the Only Begotten Son of God,
born of the Father before all ages.
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us men and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary,
and became man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate,
he suffered death and was buried,
and rose again on the third day
in accordance with the Scriptures.
He ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead
and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.

We believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
We confess one Baptism for the forgiveness of sins
and we look forward to the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come.
