Mr. David Gaitan To All Instructors

David Gaitan, Jr. and his wife Angelina made the decision to homeschool their four children when COVID-19 changed the world. David has his Associates of Applied Science in American Sign Language Interpreting from Del Mar College. He is currently furthering his education by continuing his bachelor’s studies through the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio.

Mr. Gaitan has always had a love of science. He feels that science helps students see and understand the world around them. He loves the natural curiosity of his children and loves to answer their questions with factual answers, no matter how difficult the question. When he finds himself without an answer, he is quick to pull up a book, use a search engine, or ask a friend to obtain the answers the child is seeking.

Mr. Gaitan has had many career choices in his life he has worked as a sous chef for a local hotel, he worked for a nonprofit agency, he also has worked in the public school system as an ASL Interpreter, and he works part time as a freelance photographer.

He enjoys volunteering as an interpreter for the Deaf and interprets the holy mass to provide access for the Deaf Community in the Diocese of Corpus Christi. His hobbies include reading, cooking, and learning more about his Catholic Faith.
